We rely on your professionalism, efficiency and reliability. When a service provider fails, we fail to provide excellent service to our client, the employer. And that is unacceptable. Form I-9 is an easy task and a great way for you to earn extra income, but things can go wrong. It is extremely important that you understand the terms under which you will act as our Approved Service Provider.
If you submit a quote to complete a service request, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the completion date, location, return method and other provided details; and agree that your quote is based on a full understanding of the requirements of the task.
You will bear the cost of mailing, if any; neither we nor our client will provide a mailing label or other assistance to return documents. You are also responsible for costs associated with receiving payment, if any, via Paypal or other electronic payment service. You understand, therefore, that you should include all costs in your quote. (Currently, the return methods with possible cost that we offer our clients are: Certified Mail and Digital Download & Certified Mail.
You acknowledge that your quote may or may not be accepted by our client; and that several days may pass before it is accepted. While we understand that circumstances can change between the time that you submit a quote and the time that you are awarded the task, you agree to make every effort to honor your quote, or to contact us before it is accepted if you will be unable to do so.
You acknowledge that any and every service request may require travel to the employee's location. While we encourage you to schedule a face-to-face meeting at a time and place that is mutually convenient, we expect you to make every effort to accommodate the employee. You will not insist that the employee come to you.
You understand that we may suggest a quote ("Maximum Recommended Quote" or "MRQ") but that you are not bound by the MRQ, and may respond with a quote that is higher or lower than the MRQ.
Refusal to honor the terms of a service request for which you provide a quote and are awarded will result in your removal from our program. Failure to read and understand the requirements of any service request (location, return method, etc.) will not excuse you from the requirements.
You understand that WE will pay you for your service, and that solicitation of the employee or employer for payment will result in your permanent removal from our program.
Independent Contractor. After approval as an Approved Service Provider and upon award of a service request, the Contractor is engaged as an independent contractor of Verify I-9, LLC (“the Company”). Nothing contained in these terms will be construed to create the relationship of employer and employee, principal and agent, partnership or joint venture, or any other fiduciary relationship.
The Contractor will perform a service for the Company’s client (“the Employer”). Except in the limited capacity described below (“Authorized Representative”), nothing contained in these terms will be construed to create the relationship of employer and employee, principal and agent, partnership or joint venture, or any other fiduciary relationship between the Contractor and the Employer.
Neither the Company nor the Employer shall not be responsible for withholding taxes with respect to the Contractor's compensation hereunder. The Contractor shall have no claim against the Company or the Customer hereunder or otherwise for vacation pay, sick leave, retirement benefits, social security, worker's compensation, health or disability benefits, unemployment insurance benefits, or employee benefits of any kind.
The Contractor may not act as agent for, or on behalf of, the Company, or to represent the Company, or bind the Company in any manner.
Authorized Representative. The Contractor will act as the Authorized Representative of the Employer for the completion of Form I-9. The Contractor agrees to act in accordance with federal law and regulation, and instruction provided by the Company.
The Contractor shall provide the necessary equipment to perform the Services. If the Contractor has obtained employees or agents (the "Contractor Personnel"), the Contractor shall be solely responsible for all costs associated with the Contractor Personnel.
Confidentiality. The Contractor acknowledges that during the engagement [he or she] will have access to and become acquainted with various processes, information, records and specifications owned or licensed by the Company and/or used by the Company in connection with the operation of its business including, without limitation, the Company's business and product processes, methods, customer lists, accounts and procedures. The Contractor also acknowledges that he or she will have access to and become acquainted with the personal information and identification documents of the Employer’s personnel.
The Contractor agrees that [he or she] will not disclose any of the aforesaid, directly or indirectly, or use any of them in any manner, either during the term of this Agreement or at any time thereafter, except as required in the course of this engagement with the Company on behalf of the Employer. All files, records, documents, information, letters, notes, emails and similar items relating to the business of the Company or the Employer, whether prepared by the Contractor or otherwise coming into [his or her] possession, shall remain the exclusive property of the Company or, where appropriate, the Employer. The Contractor shall not retain any copies of the foregoing without the Company's prior written permission. Upon the expiration or earlier termination of this Agreement, or whenever requested by the Company, the Contractor shall immediately deliver to the Company all such files, records, documents, specifications, information, and other items in [his or her] possession or under [his or her] control.
The Contractor further agrees that [he or she] will not disclose [his or her] retention as an independent contractor or the terms of this Agreement to any person without the prior written consent of the Company and shall at all times preserve the confidential nature of [his or her] relationship to the Company and of the services hereunder.
The Contractor agrees that, except as required to complete the engagement, he or she will not contact the Company’s client directly, but will communicate with the Employer when necessary through the Company.
The Contractor accepts responsibility for understanding state law regarding the Contractor's authority to complete this assignment. Specifically, the Contractor agrees that, if [he or she] is a Notary Public, the law of the state in which the Contractor does business permits the Contractor to complete this assignment.
